One of the sneakier things being done to people travelling to Shannon Airport from Limerick and the broader midwest region is an effort to funnel revenue to the Limerick Tunnel. The alternative road to the tunnel, the Condell Road, can easily handle 80km/h. It is wide, has great visibility and a good surface. But the road is being reduced to 30km/h in an effort to frustrate people into using the expensive alternative.
We’ll all be dead because of global warming before this happens.
“Could” and “25 years”. Headline may as well read: “Limerick may never see rail connection to Shannon Airport”
I understand these things take time with planning and all but 25 years seems a bit ridiculous.. are we that slow and useless at building infrastructure

Limerick could also see a teleportation service to Sydney in 25 years. I mean, who can say what might happen that far in the future? Personally I’d put odds on that over a rail connection to Shannon Airport, though.
