Bout ye folks, I moved in to a new gaff this week and there’s a faerie tree out back.
I absolutely love it and would be superstitious about them and I definitely don’t want to get cursed by the Aos Sí.
As ye can see the last owners put fake grass down but I wanna turn all that into wildflower beds or something.
Anyone got any advice of how to care for the tree without damaging and respect it properly?

You’re insane, but fair play for removing the crappy AstroTurf and replacing it with wildflowers.
Youll be doing the tree a favour taking up Astro and putting wild flower.
Just don’t disturb the root system or compact the soil onto of the roots. The damage was already done putting Astro down. Hawthorn trees are pretty hardy.
You won’t get many wild flowers this year but can be ready for next years planting season plenty of guides on wild flower preparation. In my opinion your best preparing the flowers in pots or trays and transplanting the first year you will have a better number of plants actually take and re produce seeds again.
Do not interfere with the tree. Unless you want a life of misery
Hawthorns don’t need looking after really.. if they start growing at all, they usually stay going.. there is probably a layer of stone or gravel under the fake grass so ideally take that out back to the clay and bring in new clay. You can leave it but the stone will drain the top layer and drought maybe an issue..
Other thing I would suggest, if sowing wildflowers which are typically mid to late bloomers, put in a few snowdrops and daffodils.. no advantage to anything other than you will have flowers earlier..
