How about this for an idea when a rightly convicted person is released they get presented with a bill for food and board.
This guy is innocent so lets charge him for taking up a cell he was not entitled to.
Utter madness.
I get this law was brought in so people who were released on a technicality were required to pay.
However this is not the case here at all. He didn’t do the crime and has been proven innocent. He shouldn’t have to wait for any compensation it should be paid immediately and he certainly shouldn’t have any of it deducted to pay for room and board.
