The whole bill is such a unworkable mess that it is likely to collapse under its own weight. This will also damage the UK economy beyond repair.
I hope apple/whatsapp stick by their promise of just disconnecting the UK from their services.
Give the UK a ‘Brexit’ communication app. Every message they send is cc’d to every council and politician in the UK for ‘verification’
Give them a warning before each message that its unencrypted and if they have any complaints to vote for non-corrupted politicians (both major parties apparently support this cr*p so it will be difficult)
It’s truly terrifying. The UK gov has been trying to pass this for years and using kids safety as the reason. The criminals and shady people use darknet not Facebook messenger!
I don’t understand the point. Terrorists or whatever will just switch to whatever other software doesn’t spy. It takes a few days for an average software developer to build you a very simple chat app with unbreakable encryption.
I’d rather every company pulls their messaging service out of the UK than to comply with this
