If they’re high up in the polls then the public sentiment towards them is increasingly favourable and if they happen to win the election then that’s the will of the German people not some fringe group who don’t like it when things don’t turn out their way.
Like what would these protests aim to achieve? Would you have the AFD banned from being able to run for office? You want them banned because something something fascism. But banning a political opposition would constitute a core aspect of fascism itself.
You can’t beat fascism using more fascism. You want to beat the far right? Provide alternatives and solutions to the issues facing Germany. If you don’t want to fix said problems then pipe down.
