When in Malta many years ago I picked up a tourist leaflet from the hotel lobby which included this image. There was no explanation of where the statue/bust was to be found or what it was and ever since, I have been wondering about it ever since. I tried Google reverse image with no result.
Can anyone enlighten me, epecially as to the artist and subject?
no 🙂 🙂 if it was an image of pastizzi every one would know 😛
It’s an Antonio Sciortino sculpture. He’s one of the key sculptors of the 20th century in Malta.
I didn’t know the name of the statue, but I looked it up and it appears to be called Scultrici Americana (American sculptor), which yo can view here: [https://www.europeana.eu/en/item/08533/artifact_aspx_id_656](https://www.europeana.eu/en/item/08533/artifact_aspx_id_656)

It say that’s it’s part of the Museum of Fine arts collection, which nowadays would be muza. The sculpture gallery at muza is actually incredible, really beautiful.
