I’ve asked my wife and she looked at me funny like I was crazy. They’re very soft, rich and sweet bread buns. Here’s an example https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/soft-dinner-rolls/
I’d want to avoid making my own due to time constraints. But this is like a last resort. Anyone know where I could possibly find some? Penny? Edeka? Wait for American week? I want to make a certain slider dish and these are the only ingredient missing

I have never seen anything similar to buy in Germany.
**Milchbrötchen** is what you’re looking for i think
There’s something similar they sell in every Dutch supermarkt, but I can’t remember to have seen that here in Germany.
Buy Einback and cut them in half?
Ask for Hefebrötchen. They are often with raisins though. Or you take something similar with yeast dough, like Brioche if you don’t mind the different form.

These are a bit different, but might serve your purpose as well.
When baked, this turns into a soft roll a bit bigger than a slider (but smaller than a usual German roll, about half the size).
Milchbrötchen and Einback taste very different than dinner rolls and won’t word for a savoury slider. You mean dinner rolls like those kings Hawaiian, right?
Try out brioche burger buns, most bigger shops have them, but they are bigger than what you want. I personally would recommend the Rewe ones, but I’d recommend baking them yourself more.

If you’re in the East, you can find them as “Buchteln”. We typically eat them with warm vanilla sauce to dip in. Probably my favourite lunch back in school (mainly because it was usually crappy and that was something you couldn’t ruin even if you tried). As for where to buy them I don’t know. Maybe ask around some bakeries.
There’s also Milchbrötchen but they are usually a single small roll/loaf, so with crust all around. They are also usually less fluffy as a result. Buchteln look exactly like in your picture.
American style dinner rolls aren’t a thing here in Germany. I think Milchbrötchen are sweeter than you are looking for, but they are probably the best thing you can get fresh. You can also try Pizzabrötchen, which you can sometimes get in supermarkets.
There’s a woman with a stall in town who sells wiener sausages on that exact bread but she doesn’t tell anyone where she gets it. Closest I’ve gotten here is microwaving a Brötchen for about 10 seconds for the extra softness but it’s not the same.
