  1. Bloody woke councils, wanting to reduce the risk of car crashes in built-up areas.

  2. Two pro motorist statements from Sunak, just after High Court said ULEZ is legal. Is the timing a co-incidence?

  3. At this stage of the political cycles he is scrambling for a hook to get voters listening to him again. Like Major in 97 or Brown on 2010. To be fair Major in 92 managed to pull it out the fire, but for the most part these are just trail balloons. He is hunting for an issue that resonates with swing voters.

Its likely the “disgruntled from Tunbridge Wells” who seeths about this while the centerist mum and dad who worries about their kids being safe on the way to school would likely be more in favour. The “war on the car” thing has a resonance with Zone 6 London and maybe a few towns implementing more aggressive versions of this, but this election is going to be about the economy, cost of living and state of public services.

  4. Thank God for this if any thing actually comes of it.

Most 20s are illogical, unenforceable and widely ignored with little impact on actual speeds being measured while normalising the breaking of speed limits for the every day motorist. Hopefully the DfT can step in with a new 25mph limit instead which would make more sense.
