Any recommendations where I could order water jugs in Nicosia? I just moved here and AFAIK tap water is not recommended for drinking

  1. Empty jugs to fill at Mr. Penguin’s machines or jugs with water?

Empty jugs are sold in places like big Sklavenitis hypermarkets and Super Home Centres. You can get caps there as well, and you can make them reusable by tearing only a part of the cap off, so you can remove it by pulling that remaining piece. I recommend 3G jugs, as 5G are just too heavy to carry around. We use 4 of them and go and refill the other 3 when there’s only one left.

Jugs with water are sold literally everywhere, in all supermarkets or even kiosks. They are not reusable ones, like in your pic, but disposable PET ones, usually come in about 10 liter volume.

  2. I’m just reusing 15 liters jugs from some periptero (also maybe somebody here can tell it is ok for health or not). And if you wanna order jugs online – superhome center, they have at least 5, 10, 15 and 20 liters reusable jugs, made of thick plastic available. Delivery is available too. Only thing, that stops me from using these jugs is a price

  3. Tap water is completely fine, if you dont like the taste (most people dont) thats completely different.

  4. Superhome center or any supermarket. They also have ones (Superhome) where you buy a jug and filters (40+40) and you just refill from the tap. You need to just replace the filter 2x a year. It’s much easier than carrying jugs of water.

  5. > AFAIK tap water is not recommended for drinking

idk if this is an above-average-financial-situation thing, but in the three houses I’ve lived in in Limassol every kitchen tap had a knob labeled ‘drinking water’

Edit: It does still taste different than bottled water
