Families caring for dementia patients in UK reaching crisis point, says charity

  1. It is a tragic situation but sometimes I find it odd that for every issue in society the solution rests on the hand of the state. I hear this more in the UK than I hear it from people from Germany, Sweden, France, Italy, countries with far higher tax rates.
This is in no way a criticism of the view, but I see a pattern of expecting everything to be done by the state, immediately, leading to a sense of hopelessness and helpfulness which leads to another wave of stricter expectations, and so on.
The Guardian has been making a killing for a long time milking the outrage tit but if we expect anything to be different and better in the future we need to take a step back and have a better look at what is happening.
One solution is for the state to provide care for dementia patients but they will own the houses once they have passed away. The received houses can be sold or can be used for social housing.
