How does sentencing in Ireland work when it comes to cases like these – surely the equivalent of 2 life sentences? And of course whatever he gets for the serious assault causing harm charge.
Furthermore, since the suspect has plead guilty, can we now have an open discussion on the potential reasoning or motive behind these murders? I’m speaking from a legal point of view here, so as not to interfere with court proceedings.
It really is baffling how little coverage/outrage this received in comparison to the assault on the American tourist, (not to belittle that horrific assault or anything). This lad wasn’t far off being a serial killer of gay men, in a more populous area it might have taken a few days longer to catch him and he could’ve done more harm.
