  1. Bad blow for the irish economy. Took on a lot of grads

  2. Not a good sign for the consulting industry as a whole, but was inevitable as a knock on effect from companies tightening their budgets.

  3. People need to realise that the Tech sector is not a safe sector anywore. This is only the start of the layoffs. Especially with the rading developing nature of AI, a lot of these roles can be automated.

One things for sure, proper manual and blue shirt job are definitely safe

  4. With over 700k employees around the world there’s probably room for trimming a little fat. Also, stick in a bit of AI and you’ll get the same results as from a graduate pulse on the line.

  5. What’s the real reason? I know they said the usual inflation and costs shit etc, but I wonder is it due to AI or automation?

  6. These consulting services are a swizz. We had one come into our org in 2019. Everything the college grads who came in to see what was going on developed into recommendations was either something long term staff had been saying needed to happen for years or was copy paste from every other report they wrote.

The sooner there’s fewer of these types annoying people doing real work the better.

  7. Is this:

    1. Consultancy Jobs AND/OR
    2. Outsourced jobs – they have contracts with Google, FB etc.

Feel sorry for the outsourced jobs – some really good people there.
