In Finland most of the light bulbs have very yellowish light (warm light?), but it looks a bit depressing to me. I have been trying to find bulbs that have pure white light, probably its called “cool white”, something like this: [https://i.imgur.com/eVdB4YS.png](https://i.imgur.com/eVdB4YS.png)
Any idea where can I find such bulbs, and is there any specific word for it so I can ask the store.

At least in Prisma (and I suppose in every place that sells bulbs) they have at least four different temperatures of light available. From warm to daylight.
Ikea. Check lumens and temp. Might need to visit their outlet to see them in real action. Got a few back in 2016 and they are up and running.
I never liked these usual yellow colored bulbs. They are depressive but to each of their won.
See the Kelvin color temperature chart.. [https://www.avonni.com/en/what-is-kelvin/](https://www.avonni.com/en/what-is-kelvin/)
I think bigger super markets have bulbs that are 4000-5000K, those are pretty white.
Yeap, all supermarkets have them usually…
But currently there seems to be some issues with stock, as I’ve been trying to buy some for weeks and they’re out
Eg. [this](https://www.verkkokauppa.com/fi/product/78565/mmvxt/Airam-LED-lamppu-2-pack-E27-4000-K-470-lm-opaalikupuinen), even says cool white on the box. Higher than 4k is not that common, but there are some available.
4000 Kelvin is what you are looking for 🙂 Should be able to find lightbulbs in almost any convenience store. Just check the kelvin (K),
Clas Ohlson, Tokmanni, any big grocery market, K-Rauta… Any place that sells ceiling lamps etc. Airam brand even mentions in the box if the light is “cool” or “warm” shade. Just make sure it has enough lumens. 👍
Everywhere. If you want daylight then its usually a lighting fixture you need to buy that has that 5000-6500K range LED built inside.
If you want to be cheap and have more color range depending on the mood and time of day buy those IKEA bulbs that have wireless control and 2700K/3000/4000K range.
Here’s a Finnish phrase for you if salespeople don’t speak English where you live: *Lamppu ei saa olla sävyltään “lämmin valkoinen” eli kellertävä, vaan sen pitää olla sävyltään* ***”kirkas valkoinen”.*** I used the more universal word “sävy” (shade/tone) instead of the more technical term “värilämpötila” (colour temperature), in case salespeople in your supermarket don’t know technical terms.
Honestly I recommend LED lights with adjustable color, such as Philips hue or cheaper alternatives which I think are just as good. Have had mine for years and they haven’t needed replacement and it’s just such a joy to be able to change the mood of the room (and sometimes also your own!) with your phone.
Huh, I’ve allways found the whitelight a bit cold and depressing :/
Motonet has a good selection of 4000K lamps. I agree with you, yellow light is depressing.
Others have already suggested the cheaper versions. You might also want to consider smart lights, like Phillips Hue or Lifx. What they offer is an easy way to select different shades of white, an app to control them from one place, and integration with stuff like Alexa or Google Home.
At least I’ve noticed that a lot of the cheaper led lights give off this really sickeningly white light, that is extremely off putting. Like the office in Joe and the Volcano. Full disclosure, I prefer my light warm.
