Am anti-nuclear but I’ve yet to have my morning movement.
Maybe they feel if they create some make believe group that it will start a pro nuclear movement ?
*”Oh better whack them hippy anti-nuclear people down who do they think they are, John start a por nuclear group we can’t let them win”*
Historically they were very much the “anti-everything” type of protestor.
If you look up the Carnsore Point protests, the far-left were counter-protesting – commies loved nuclear power – but the Irish left was very prominent, especially the nationalist left. People like Christy Moore and Clannad were prominent opponents of nuclear power.
Nowadays, anti-nuclear movements tend to be very crankish, and, ironically, often knowingly or unknowingly pro-Russian. Russia is the biggest sponsor of the anti-nuclear movement in the West as it generally required countries to switch to natural gas/other fossil fuels.
