Just thought I’d reach out to see if anyone would be so kind as to help me translate and possibly identify this postcard? I’ve taken a closer photo of the man in the centre holding a sign which I believe the date reads 1917 but I unfortunately can’t make out what it says and Google wasn’t much help either. I’ve also attached a photo of the reverse of the postcard. If anyone has any information I’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you! ☺️
The sign says “Militar Polizei Wache 2” on the second line.
Can’t make out anything on the handwritten side, it is too scribbly.
Edit: I suspect the handwritten part is in German but my German is very bad, but given that it is German the first line might be “Weihnachten” (Christmas) or something, which aligns with the christmas tree.
I’m also not convinced the date is 1917 but rather 1913 or 1915 since the bottom part of the last number is too fat to be a 7.
