One thing I always liked about Americanism is the bullshit has never worked unless they want it to work for whatever gain. I fear in the EU, the technicalities and red tape would get in the way of a military response.

There is a single precedent for invoking article 5 and that was used to call for the invasion of a country that was harbouring a terrorist organisation that itself had attack a NATO member.
