Covid ‘absolutely running rife’ in communities – Reid

  1. I’d well believe it. It seems everyone in my family’s social circles has it, entire households in fact, and very few of them can get tested even with other positive cases in the house. That’s potentially up to 70% of cases there missed if the whole group is positive. It’s everywhere.

  2. You haven’t been able to get PCR tests in days and everybody has been meeting up recently, the real number is much higher and will get astronomically higher January if last year is anything to go by.

Last year numbers were 1000 cases on Xmas day and then 8000 by Jan 8, and back down to 1000 cases by feb.

  3. He came out to say that the virus is going mad but didn’t mention that he’s failing to fucking provide tests, where do we get these people?

  4. I have a vulnerable family member who is close to passing, he was the only reason I have been carful for the past 2 years. Once he passes i am going back to living as normal and will not be doing anything I’m not forced to do to help curb covid. Part of me fears loosing this relative but the other part cannot wait to go back to normal and no give the slightest shit about covid ever again. The herd can go fuck itself.

  5. Maybe it’s good if we all get infected, it might build up some herd immunity given that it seems to be mild and hospital numbers aren’t flying up.

I’m pretty sure I’m infected now, was a close contact of someone who tested positive, but fell outside the 48hr window or so the HSE ask for close contacts. Multiple Antigen tests have all been negative, can’t get a PCR, but definitely have a cold like feeling, it’s very very mild and if this is all Omicorn is I’ll take it.

So I suspect case numbers would be double at the very least if everyone who needed a test could get one

  6. I imagine it’s only a matter of time before I get it.

A few people in my workplace are close contacts with people already and there’s one who actually has COVID. I wasn’t a close contact with them but there’s simply so many people and customers in the workplace it’s practically inevitable it’ll happen at some point.
