As you know the migration ministry has increased the salary threshold from 13Kkr to 26Kkr ish for work visa. Trying to thinking how this will affect us in the future. In which sectors will the impact be maximum and do you have any suggestions how to improvise. Let’s try to keep the discussion in English so it might help someone.

  2. Lol hur ska detta gå. Gissningsvis så kommer staten få lägga mellanskillnaden i någon form av bidrag när företagen som har blivit vana med max vinst måste börja betala människor.

  3. Pardon my ignorance of the subject, but is this change being made to stop the influx of (mainly) eastern and other european workers during peak seasons for like harvesting, tourism etc? Or what’s the goal here?

    Hjälper det dem? Absolut inte. Hjälper det oss? Knappast det heller.

    Protektionism fungerar inte men underligt nog är vänstern all in i detta feltänk som skapar lidande för alla, speciellt de fattigaste. Borde ni inte bry er om dem och inte sparka ut dem? Finns det ingen sympati hos vänstern längre? Tänker ni bara på er själva?

  7. So construction firms and berry picking orga won’t be able to exploit people anymore and everything that comes with it. I say good. Insane amount of financial cheating going on there. They’ll probably fire the cheapest labour and start employing very young people instead so they don’t have to pay a minimum wage but yeah. Exploiting people will at least not be as easy anymore.

    hrf have a minimum salary of 26 382 for 2024, we dont want people working here for 6 months and then leave.

    Most comments here below seems to misunderstand, this does not affect any EU worker.

    Kockar och diskare tjänar 143kr i timmen och når därför inte upp till denna summan, och eftersom majoriteten av denna personalen är arbetskraftsinvandring så kan man heller inte anställa dem, och de flesta svenska restauranger måste stänga.

  11. This is good. I really don’t think attracting unskilled workforce is Sweden’s goal. I believe low wages not only leads to a low standard of living but also creates a secondary market of unorganised, unregulated sub markets. It may lead to many people failing to integrate with the general Swedish society due to a lack of disposable income but also drive these workers to living in ghetto like corners of the country. There’s going to be a visible class distinction and society. All these will only create more resentment within them. And the next thing you know is that they’re more comfortable taking up illegal activities, petty crime and similar. I’m no sociologist but this is what I think. I can now reflect back and see why a lot of the grocery, food delivery apps employ non – EU nationals. Clearly these companies have exploited the lack of such a law. 13000 SEK may be a lot in their currency but not in Sweden. Although I definitely agree that there will be a lot of people affected by this adversely, like non asylum seekers who’ve moved to the country due to its liberal LGBTQ laws, single parents, small medium hospitality businesses and similar. But on the whole Sweden needs this!

  13. My opinion is that it’s too fucking late now. They should’ve done something like this 10 years ago. Too many asylum seekers and bottom class workers have entered the country and many of them even got citizenship. We should learn from USA to attract high talents around the world to Sweden. PhDs, experts, elites osv.

  14. Or just make a law that ensures that swedish union agreements are in effect on swedish soil no matter where the company resides

    This is not good for unions.
