  1. Surely it’s already illegal under existing anti prostitution laws?

  2. This will just lead to sex pest landlords leaving the market, making the housing crisis worse.
    ^^^^^^/s

  3. Absolutely crazy that this wasn’t already illegal and that the Government hasn’t put forth any legislation itself and it’s been left to the Opposition to do, especially since this was revealed to have been happening for a while months ago, so they’ve had the time to.

  4. Sad that landlords (or anyone really) are so morally and ethically corrupt that this HAS to be an actual law.

  5. Watching the RTE documentary was shocking. You could see the landlords trying to justify it by saying “we want you to feel comfortable with it etc etc”. Housing is a human need. It’s akin to someone offering a starving person food for sex. No one can consent in that situation.

  6. I mean there are those I’m sure that wouldn’t mind. A few sexes a week seems like a bargain. How much is one sex? Street value.

  7. SF when they see an easy point scoring populist thing to do

  8. and tomorrows news: females complaining they have to actually pay rent…

  9. What about renters who seek sex for lower rent? Or is this just landlord blaming*?

“Not a landlord I hasten to add.

  10. But sure we’ve no money to be paying it with! And it’s not like tesco will accept a bit of knob so I can save on me grocery bill

  11. I really don’t get it. Just take the money and then go buy sex with it over on escort ireland or whatever.

  12. Is the reason it’s not technically illegal because it’s the opposite of what the law states? It’s illegal to pay *for* sex but not technically illegal to pay *with* sex.

  13. I’ve just got into this landlord malarkey & didn’t know about this option.

How many blowjobs a month for single room house share in Monkstown ?

Is there a going rate ?
