Great news – much better late than never.
Next spring. If the training had begun immediately it would have been this spring. A year, a whole year.
I am hoping this posturing is all a smokescreen for Russia. August is already a delay.
I know, I know, the tanks (and repair centres) had some similar issues. But pilot training takes time. I just don’t believe that all the western military is too chicken to start training and use the time until politicians make up their mind which nation gives how may F-16s.
Bless those pilots and the stress they must feel to learn quickly.

This should have begun last year! If only we British had more Eurofighters or whatnot, we could skip the bureaucracy of the western nations as we did tanks and long range missiles!

I’m disappointed this didn’t happen ages ago. I hope Ukraine’s aging Soviet era jets can hold on until then, because they sure as hell won’t be getting spare parts from Sukhoi and MiG.
