I recently moved out of a rental apartment, after 3 years. The bathroom had a cabinet under the sink, located next to the shower (with enclosure). The cabinet doors sustained some cosmetic damages(as seen in the picture), due to moisture, as its under the sink and right next to the shower. The landlord is not happy about this. Does this fall under normal apartment wear & tear? I’d really appreciate some opinions.

Shower curtain or glass to prevent the water going to the cabinet? Ventilation and floor heating to prevent moisture building up and staying in bathroom?
It might also be a shitty cabinet but it is not common if the above things are in place and uses correctly.
