The foreign minister proposing a limited ban is the former prime minister, who in 2017 or so very happily removed the blasphemy law. The only thing the law did was banning burning/discretion of religious objects. It was known it would increase the threat to Denmark from islamists.
The speculation is now, that (hopefully) the government later will conclude it’s not possible to reinstate blasphemy laws, and the whole thing was just to defuse the present situation.
But this has shown the existence of so many people in Denmark, that doesn’t really care about freedom of speech, because they think we should be tolerant and respectful of islamists instead of asking them to be tolerant and respectful of our liberties in a free country.
The idiots should just stop this, as it does not show anything but religious intolerance. Do not give those intolerant ideologies and religions more power by succumbing to their demands out of fear.
Especially if it threatens national safety and increases the risk of violence committed by religious. The police have the posibility of saying no to the Quran burners. Freedom of speech is to be honored, but not if there is a threat of violence.

Few years ago they were making fun of Sweden and calling them pussies for this type of behavior. Now they are doing it themselves.
I mean, all they need to do is to not allow incitement of hatred (as they usually dont), and most Quran burnings would be stopped just on account of that. You don’t allow cross burnings by white supremacists, why allow Quran burnings by the same white supremacists?
Where do we draw the line then? Should we allow satire to talk down on islam? Gay people apparently also make out a threat to Islam.
Fuck off. I think it’s stupid to burn books or flags to make an statement. But I think it’s more stupid to even care about it. If it was against specific persons and outside if their homes I hope authorities would react of course. Would probably be a hate crime.
