It should be noted that hills in the entire area, up to some two-three decades ago, were mostly barren and grey for ages.
Herzegovina (Southern at least) is undoubtebly wealthier in foliage today than in the last century, by orders of magnitude from what I hear, from people who were used to seeing the hills be just naked rock.
