Hey guys,

According to official government sources, a person can apply for citizenship after living legally for at least 5 years in Luxembourg.

Is this an actual thing?, I mean, is that time considered for granting citizenship in practice?

For context, in Malta, you can apply for citizenship after living 4-6 years… or that’s what the law says, but in reality, only people living +15 years (most people claim 18-20 years) will be actually considered to be granted Maltese citizenship (marrying a Maltese person may give you some years less for the wait).

So I’d like to know if this absurd situation happens in Lux as well…

Merci !
