This deceptive camouflage of “listing ship” is unique to Russia in modern history and is distinct from the more famous forms of obfuscation camouflage that attempt to confuse an observer so that they misjudge distance, speed and heading. Here one is tricked into believing the ship suffered from careless smoking and is likely sinking, or at the very least headed to dry dock for extensive years-long repairs or scuttling. Be fooled at your own peril.

As a former USN sailor, I can say with some authority that if you have a clear view of the deck layout at the bow of a ship when your eyeline is just above sea level, then either the ship is heeling sharply due to it making an extreme manoeuvre, or there’s something very seriously wrong with the ship.
Western ships can’t do low rider lean. Take that, NATO!
It’s more than intact, now with added water!
