  1. Ukraine might not join the EU for years and years to come but it’s always good when another country implements reforms for the betterment of the people.

    Take this for example (from the article)

    “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Concerning Strengthening the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights,” which is aimed at achieving the European level of protection of intellectual property rights and improving the protection of intellectual property rights in court;

    This might not change Ukraine overnight but it’s a good step in the right direction.

  2. Good for them, Ukraine is beautiful and there’s some good food from Ukraine, also good music. I’d welcome Ukraine in the EU also because it would make Putin cry.

  3. Please don’t make the mistake of adding another fascist state to EU, we have enough problem with Hungary and Poland.

  4. I say let them join, the more the merrier. Unfortunately western European countries are blocking them because they have a very negative view of “eastern Europeans”.

  5. It seems Poland and Hungary has some language-usage probems for ther minorities (similar to those Russians had).

    Like if the minority langauges can be used in schools or not.

    I do not think it is realistic for ukraine to join the EU.

  6. remember the time Ukraine tried to ship all the Tatars out of Crimea, before Russia took hold of he administration that is

  7. Ukrainian here. All corruption schemes are still working, just became more complicated. Some changes are only on paper or just for “achievements”. Well, there are some little changes.

  8. Ukraine is still not 100% ready for EU. Here we go again. US to go to war with Russia to try to force Ukraine to become fully like EU and US which there’s a lot of work left to do.

    US/EU. You can’t change other countries

  9. As far as I am concerned, all countries are welcome in EU as long as they respect the rules. We don’t need those who want the benefits but don’t give a damn about human rights, racism, sexism, or are intolerant towards minorities.

  10. I’m sure admitting another Eastern European country would do absolute wonders for the state of liberal democracy, rule of law, and civil rights in the European Union, especially one as progressive as Ukraine. Good thing the EU doesn’t have any issues with countries experiencing democratic backsliding.

  11. Can we take a small chuck of production jobs and move them from China to Ukraine, please? We are better off supporting countries that have actual democratic reforms. Some countries are impossible to work with in that area. China is one of them.
