I’m all for public transport being the main way to move around, but I start work @ 6.30. If I don’t go by car, it takes me nearly 3x the time and have to leave home 1 hour earlier than with the car. Same with my hobby I practice mainly in Germany. Just not possible realistic without sacrificing a huge amount of free time.
Since Luxembourg is very much focused around the city center and we have a huge amount of frontaliers coming everyday over the border, this is a problem, public transport can’t solve, just by making it free.
“télétravail”, industry “hubs” near the borders and I don’t know, better coordination between cars+public transport might solve some issues. But tbh, Luxembourg is just oversaturated during the week.
So, public transport sure is a nice thing, especially being free of charge, but doesn’t work for everybody.
