Roman Catholic churches in Poland that look like spaceships (+ bonus bus station)

  1. I can even tell you why. I know the third picture from the bottom. It’s in Poznań, built in Nowe Miasto, which basically was newly built up area with lots of blocks of flats. The existing churches were too small for the amount of people attending masses. So they Polish Catholic church tried to get permission to build some churches, but as it was in the 70s/80s, it was hard to get planning permission to build a church. I don’t know the particulars but most likely they got permission to build just one church, so they decided on building this behemoth. It is actually a double decker church, with the basement being ready for use in the 80s, and that was quite a big space inside (was there multiple times as a kid), and then the top floor being ready in the 90s (Don’t remember if I went to the top part at all, anyway not planning to go). That way they could do two masses at the same time.
