I don’t think people realise how insane this rainfall is going to be. We average 80 mm in August, tonight will be over half a month of rain in one night.

1. Reporting 6mm rainfall in the next few hours in numerous counties, not sure if that’s accurate but if so there is going to be very serious flooding overnight.

2. I look through the weather data for a number of sites each month for work.

   Anything over 20mm of rain in a day a consider to be extremely heavy rainfall.

   So 50mm is huge.

3. Looking at the radar it’ll be past most of the country in an hour. Think they were pessimistic with the forecast.
