Hello all on this sub. First time poster here!

Here’s one for you…

I (26M British Citizen) am a North Sea offshore oil & gas worker (deep-sea diver life support) currently residing in the UK and I wish to live & rent in Berlin for more than 90 days in 180 day period.
My work is done on a vessel at sea outside of Germany (and the territorial sea) on a roughly ‘month on/month off’ basis.
I am employed by a US company registered in the UK.

I always fly to and from the vessel and all work is done on the UK Continental Shelf.
Which Visa applies to my situation?
I have scoured the embassy webpage in efforts to apply my situation to the visa’s and permits on offer and had no luck decifering them! I could use some help.
Sorry if this has been asked before. I think I have given the relevant info but any additional questions please dont hesitate to ask.

Just to confuse things further: ‘Offshore activities carried out outside of the German territorial sea are not subject to German immigration law and do not require any residence title or permit.’

For a residency permit you need a reason why you need to reside in Germany. Working for an US/ UK company outside of Germany isn’t a reason, so you need to find another.
