TLDR: 8 pilots are ready to start their training on F16’s with 20 more, those 20 are not fluent in English and need to complete a language course in the UK before being able to start their training.
I’m surprised it is not eighty or more.
I have to wonder why there is no equivalent of the escadrille lafayette or the flying tigers in this conflict. There must be a few recently retired but qualified pilots twiddling their thumbs out there….
I guess the lessons of 303 Squadron have been forgotten. It’s a war for chrissakes. I think the language requirement can be stretched.

I’d love it if they started training back when they did the evaluation on the two initial Ukrainian pilots. I’d love it if those F-16’s ended up being F-15’s oops bad at counting!

Imagine being one of the first 8 people in the world to fly an American jet against the Russians. That would be a rush, and couldn’t be for a better cause.
The Ukraine Military is highly motivated to kick the shit out of Russia.! The pilots will strike fear in the spineless Russian cowards. Imagine the Russians having change their trousers every time they climb into the cockpits of their aircraft!
