Every country has its Christmas movie. In Italy, we watch Trading Places!

  1. In Denmark it is really just one program for children and adults.

A Disney Christmas show that has more or less been shown in the same format since 1959 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/From_All_of_Us_to_All_of_You
Disney corporation have several times tried to sell a “new” version with newer animations. Danish broadcasting company says no, and keeps airing the same old show at roughly 1600. Time enough for the whole family to watch and maybe the last of this year 24 episodes Christmas Calendar show.

After that the TV is turned off, and the rest of the evening is dedicated to family, pork roast, duck, risalamande, tripping around the decorated Christmas tree while mumbling old Christmas psalms before the grand finale of giving, receiving and opening presents.

  2. Love this film.

I’m sure David Cameron and Boris Johnson were inspired by this film.

“People will support a blatant liar as long as the lies he tells support their biases, even when that support harms their own interests.”

“No, Boris, I disagree, and I’m prepared to wager £1 on it.”

  3. In Poland there is kinda tradition that on Polsat(one of TV-stations) 24th December must be Kevin movie

  4. Is every European country’s “Christmas movie” an *American* movie? Die Hard, Disney stuff (Donald Duck), Trading Places, etc? Kinda surprising to me.

Meanwhile nobody mentions the films that are considered classic Christmas movies in the US, like Charlie Brown and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. (Mildly ironic?)

I’d love recommendations for Christmas themed movies made in your country, would be fun to stream some tomorrow.

  5. In Poland it is “Kevin sam w domu (Home Alone)”.

My sister told me that once TV did not air Home Alone in Christmas and people were angry.
