Borghi argued that he can tell from a pic of the INAF observatory that the temperature measurments have been manipulated, because he saw an AC unit on the roof of the observatory “spewing hot air just onto the thermometers”. The INAF observatoryin Palermo has been operational since 1790 and has a long historty of scientific contributions (e.g. the first minor body of the Solar System, Ceres, was dicovered in Palermo by astronomer Giuseppe Piazzi in 1801). In 2020 the INAF meteorological station in Palermo has been classified as “Centennial Observing Station” by the World Meteorological Organisation, because it meets their most severe accuracy requirements and is has been continuosly recording weather data for more than two centuries.
