Reactions to Disney+’s decision to cancel the Atatürk series are growing. Parliament plans to take action on the issue. Disney+’s decision not to broadcast Atatürk’s TV series remains on Turkey’s agenda. RTÜK launched an investigation after this decision. Today, a reaction came from the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Hüseyin Yayman, Chairman of the Parliamentary Digital Media Commission, made statements on the subject.

After Disney+ announced that it would not broadcast the Atatürk movie, the reactions grew like an avalanche. Hüseyin Yayman, Chairman of the Parliamentary Digital Media Commission, stated that they are preparing to impose a serious sanction. In his statement, Yayman said, “We will provide all kinds of compensation, including license cancellation of Disney Plus, band narrowing, advertising ban.” said.
The statements made by the Chairman of the Digital Media Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey are as follows;
When the parliament opens, we will call Disney Plus Turkey officials and ask them to explain the reasons for the cancellation to our commission. We call the Information Technologies Authority to duty. We will provide all kinds of compensation, including license cancellation of Disney Plus, band reduction, advertising ban. They find other solutions for themselves by getting around Disney Plus law. Preventing or banning commercial activities is one of the best decisions. But as a whole, we will demand that every subject, including the cancellation of the license, be discussed and the strictest sanctions applied, as the Digital Media Commission of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
I hope there wont be a state ban on Disney+, because that would be a horrible precedent that leads to a very slippery slope. I dont want to have to watch TRT tabii. I think we should all boycott Disney on our own accord.
