  1. First team played today.

And likely will have tomorrow off so won’t even be in Ireland.

    Maguire, Sancho and McFred 🤦🏼

  2. €90 a ticket to watch the second team play in a friendly. They were swindled. There should be a minimum percentage of first team players, or they should make it clear that it won’t be the first team playing. They obviously never intended in playing any of the first team given they were all playing today

  3. Boo hoo. There’s no I in team, also why not look forward to seeing some of the youth players in a big game stadium. Always good to try and see who will breakthrough next

  4. Well the first team played today so it’ll definitely be second string and academy players tomorrow. Absolute rip off, tbh, 90 euro for a friendly. Definitely have a right to feel ripped off if you bought a ticket for it.

  5. The husband is annoyed. He is bringing our eldest to his first football games.
Todays match wasn’t announced until after the Dublin game was sold out.
    It’s bad form.

  6. €90 for a ticket to a friendly… Its the price i would be annoyed at not the team selection…

  7. There’s an LOI match at basically the same time tomorrow in Dublin. There’s actual meaning behind it.

  8. I saw Utd play Shelbourne in 94. V disappointed. Played a load of young fellas; Beckham, Scholes, Butt, Nevilles etc

  9. Fans might be disgruntled but they will still buy the latest over priced season kits to feed the clubs money machine

  10. Serves those fans right for being suckers. Paying €90 to see friendly, gobshites!

  11. Thankfully I’m over all this rubbish. I’ll watch the games on TV and maybe go over once every few years to a game but I knock way more enjoyment lately out of League of Ireland games. €90 would cover a good few matches here.

  12. If only we had a league of our own wherr you could watch players and a club you could really identify with week in week out. Football isn’t a television programme.

  13. Bought tickets for our two kids as Old Trafford trip isn’t an option yet and we’re so disappointed. My little boy actually cried when I told him we had tickets. We were so excited that they were going to be in Dublin. More fool me. We’ll make the best of it but it’s not what we expected if it’s the second string (and no offence to any of those players)

  14. Absolute piss take, tbf.

OK – pre-season, you’re not expecting the first team to play the full 90 mins, but you would expect *some* of the first team to be in the squad. No disrespect to the reserves, but nobody is going to shell out 90 euro to watch them play.

The fact is that the Aviva game was sold out before today’s match was even announced, so people rightly expected that some of the first team would play. As it happened, the entire first team played a full game today at Old Trafford, meaning that none of them will even travel to Dublin.

The friendly today wasn’t even sold out this week and they were offering discount tickets at a price of 15 quid a pop.

In the States, there was a similar game where the reserves played – but it was made clear that this was going to be the case when the tickets went on sale. That’s fair enough.

I think fans have a right to be pissed at this – if you’re being charged premium prices, you have a right to expect a bit more than this.

  15. Sorry but who the fuck pays €90 for a friendly game🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

  16. I’d say people should learn from this but they won’t.

  17. Bad buzz on all the excited children and stressed parents.

    Fans deserve more than this.

  18. Purposely didn’t go because I knew it would be the first team playing. Very very rare that happens on the last pre season game.

Just because someone has paid 90 euro to see Man United play, it doesnt mean they have to play the first team.

    Little bit of commone sense.

  19. This is like a major artist or band coming over and only playing the songs from the recent album. They’d be booed off stage
