What are the views of EU citizens on ukraine joining?
I want them in NATO now! Defend the frontier or watch the Soviet wannabes march on the Pirineos.
Some say Putin is a genius strategist. I’d say he is the dumbest person alive. “Why are they running away from my stick to the guy with the carrot?”
Putin has a way of making an alliance with Russia sound so attractive to its neighbors. /s
Only 30% in the East wants to join NATO, and that’s without Donetsk, Lugansk, and Crimea, which were some of the most populous regions, and incidentally, most pro-Russian. And then people say it’s not a divided country.
Yes, but do a majority of Vladimir Putin’s support Ukraine joining EU, NATO?
The myth of consent, isn’t there someone you forgot to ask?
Nah. Ukraine isn’t ready to join the EU and or NATO. With so many pro Russian members in the government, the Russian fifth column is strong in Ukraine.
It’s utterly embarrassing how there is a war in Ukraine and there are still so many pro Russian people in the government.
Wasn’t the percentage much smaller before 2014
The EU needs reforms first. First of all we need to be able to kick countries out and stop allowing vetoes to completely block all legislative progress. Majority vote and that includes voting on issues like kicking out malignant member states who’s ruling parties use the EU as their own personal piggy bank
I mean, German money and american military free for nothing in return, what’s not to like?
I might get downvoted for offering an opinion on this, but I’d say the EU is wary of even the tiny Balkan states joining, let alone a country as massive and… troubled as Ukraine.
Having said that, the accession process itself would probably benefit Ukraine in terms of incentivising a move a away from oligarchism. Joining the customs union (like Turkey) would certainly be good for the economy, and wouldn’t affect the Western states as much as full accession.
Ukraine will never join NATO.
Deploy missiles
Lmao of course they want the money.
The NATO has a law that forbidds to let countrys join that are in war or in near war conflicts. Putin knows this and uses this for his advantage. If he keeps the conflicts in the post soviet states they have to align with his position because they can not count ob the EU or their big daddy the NATO.
This would be overwhelmingly good for Ukraine and possibly overwhelmingly bad for the EU. NATO I’m not sure.
Not sure if European countries would accept them into the EU, personally I’d be against maybe like in 30 years
Soros controlled institute, worthless poll.
Guys, its all part of Putin’s genius plan /s
I bet they do. They will just cause more instability along with Poland and Hungary
alright, start by putting those violent anti gay gangs behind bars
Nothing against our Ukrainian friends, but they should first solve the corruption problem, create a state based on the rule of law and not on artistocracy/oligarchy, move away from Russian energy dependence, stabilise the economy, and solve the territorial dispute. And they can finally join the EU.
NATO maybe, EU never. Ukraine missed the window. The EU has not been interested in new poor member states since Romania and Bulgaria joined. Stingy rich countries like the Netherlands and Denmark would block all accession efforts. The only somewhat plausible potential new member is Iceland … if it gets hit hard by another crisis and reapplies again.
What the Ukranians wants is not important, it’s what NATO and EU thinks, do they want Ukraine to join them?
Too late. A Russian oblast can’t join NATO or the EU.
Ukraine will never join the EU
Yes, the EU totally needs more pisspoor countries dependent on handouts /s
Of course they do.
Sad thing is Putin is right, Europe and US can’t interfere with Russian influence on their neighbor countries and the reality is that they won’t do shit besides talking and warning.. Russia is no longer weak like in 90s and China is strong, while not Russian ally they definitely have common enemy – US..
I doubt Ukraine can join NATO without a war with Russia… I’m Polish and I’m super aware how it is to be living in close neighborhood of Russia… We were uber lucky that Russia had a crisis and lost influence up here.. but also I know how helpless west is to take any actions against big eastern power – Russia.
With this said it’s unfortunate but the most chances for Ukrainians to live a decent life without being scared of military conflict is to migrate west 🙁 Poland supports Ukraine on all fronts and is opened to accept migrants. Stay strong Ukraine I hope Russia is only doing that to let the ns2 finished not actually think of annexing more territories..
10 years of reforms and fighting the corruption, I think they could meet the criteria. Though it’s hard to imagine that their salaries matching even the lowest of EU salaries by that time, which could mean quite intense migration to the west.
Well we all read that off of Putins behavior already
ITT: Western European pearl-clutchers who think they have a God-given right to earn 10x more salary than the average Ukrainian and don’t want to lose their privilege.
Let Ukraine join already. They’ve been through enough.
