Polish Senator’s phone hacked with Pegasus spyware, with the data to be later modified and used by Polish national television as an attack on the political opposition

  1. Humongous smoking gun.

I sincerely hope that there is enough free media left that’s consumed in Poland’s rural areas for this to get reported loudly all over the country, not just the large cities.

  2. Well, in every civilized European country this entire situation would result in fall of government and at least a prosecution of those involved.

Unfortunately, in terms of rule of law, Poland cannot be considered a civilized European country anymore.

  3. They are criminals and they are going to steal the democracy. Polish people must ask for international assistance in keeping elections fair. Don’t trust PiS.

  4. Looks like the US is slowly leaking stories that are humiliating for PiS. Who would have thought that passing lex-TVN would have such serious repercussions. Play silly games, win stupid prizes 😏😏

  5. This is not politics, PiS is a criminal organization. An illegal government.

There’s no denying this, no amount of propaganda and whataboutism will be enough to defend this

  6. And now we know why Israel banned the sale of their espionage software to Hungary and Poland… we don’t have much time left I’m afraid. I REALLY hope Hungary’s upcoming elections work out in democracy’s favor.

  7. Tbh it’s not the most relevant thing that he’s a senator, but that he was head of the electoral campaign at the time they bugged his phone. We may have free election for now, but they sure are not fair anymore.

  8. Nothing will happen. PiS controls the state media and is getting rid of independent news, they control the constitutional tribunal, and they blame all the problems facing Poland on Tusk and the EU.

The battle has been won and the losing side never had a chance.

    Fuck Kaczyński.

  9. I really can’t understand why Poland became what it became. After being a puppet state for half a century, don’t the people want a developed and honest life? Other countries managed to find a fresh direction as well, what is different with Poland?

  10. Anyone help us please, i don’t need the same salary as Germans, I don’t need the same medical care as Finland, I just want to live in the country of freedom and be sure that tomorrow I will not be a bankrupt and I will not have to pay a 30 złotych for bread

  11. That senator was a head of election campaign of the biggest opposition party when the surveillance was used. Polish elections are no longer free.

  12. And Polish people still vote for the party in power, or should we assume that voting results are rigged too in Poland?

  13. And you should look in the future that nothing will happen to them. They will not even go to prison..

  14. See all the people say with regards to people’s personal privacy online ‘if you aren’t doing anything wrong you have nothing to hide’

This is precicely one of the reasons they are wrong

  15. This won’t change till people who grew up during communism die, they’re way too easy to manipulate due to fact how reds have brainwashed them when they were young

  16. Yet another instance where Israeli developed Pegasus spyware is used for nefarious deeds. The company is called NSO. The list is seriously stacking up and they know how their spyware is being used but they are happy to sell their products to basically any entity that can afford it.

  17. “NSO, which was blacklisted by the U.S. government last month, says it only sells its spyware to legitimate government law enforcement and intelligence agencies vetted by Israel’s Defense Ministry for use against terrorists and criminals”

The IDM basically says who it can be sold to. So basically any RW govt
