So after 10+ years of cycling around Dublin, I’ve finally had my bike stolen. Knew it was going to happen at some point.
Thought I was being safe, locking it in Drury Street Car park, which looks to be covered in cameras, kryptonite lock and all that. Anyway, came back 45 minutes later to find helt and shattered lock on the ground.
Car Park employees told me I’d need to go Pearse Street station and file a report before they could look at cameras.
I’m sitting in the Garda station for about 30 minutes now… An experience in itself…. Waiting to speak to somebody.
Wondering…. Is there any hope? Anyone have same happen in Drury Street? Any successes in getting stolen bikes back?

You can likely rule out superman, he won’t go near a kryptonite lock.
Joking aside, sorry to see it. Same thing happened me but rather than the bike it was the wheels, saddle and anything attached to the frame. People can be cunts.
Might be worth putting on an American accent when you file your report…. They may take it seriously then.
Good luck getting it back, some dirty scum out there.
Keep an eye on Done deal maybe.
I used one of those kryptonite yokes for years. Thought they were supposed to be top of the range like.
Did you register it, and is it one that has their ATPO logo on it? If so they offer like an insurance plan almost wherein if your bike is stolen and their lock was broken they’ll pay out to replace the bike.
Keep an eye on Facebook marketplace, adverts.ie and donedeal…
