Wagner already has a sizeable graveyard for their dead from Ukraine alone. What chance would they have against a NATO member who has access to all our best weapons?
Not to mention, Wagner is officially on Putin’s payroll. Everybody knows it. It has been confirmed. A Wagner attack on NATO soil would be a Russian attack on NATO soil and Putin surely isn’t that insane.
Putin may be planning a move for Finland and Sweden joining NATO. We don’t know. The threat would be to the small Baltic countries if he’s planning to overcome smaller militaries and may have tasked Wagner to hold the Suwalki Gap, the only land corridor to these NATO countries in the Baltics while a new Russian offensive makes a move on Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia.
If anything the Wagner group would probably try to smuggle their people in to do psyops, like posing as Ukrainians and staging incidents with the aim of reducing public support for Ukraine. In times like these we need to remember that the nature of war is very different nowadays, and to stay vigilant.
This can be read as “Russian attacks on NATO turf”. We all know that Russia can’t do shit to NATO territories, but they will try to provoke us more and more in the hope that we will make a bad decision. Currently I have no reason to doubt NATO strategy, decision making, hemonogy, or anything else. I’m sure Russia will go into history as the backwards thinking LOSERS of the 21st century.
Makes sense. Doing this Poland would make NATO watch our borders, so the next time Russian rocket, Belarusian helicopters or weather/”weather” balloon of one of them will enter our territory, our government won’t need to learn about them from some locals who would find them.
