~~Anton Hrushetskyi doesn’t mention even once (in the whole article) where did he get the data for Russia.~~
Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s because of rampant corruption, when some news about it reach putinists, every second comment is “They’d have been shot in Stalin’s times”.
Doubling down on those historical oopsies, aren’t they. ^(It did not happen. If it did, it wasn’t that bad and so forth.)
I guess publishing the USSR archives from that time would only increase his popularity among many Russians.
So that just one more of de- which must be done in muscovya to make it normal country. First of all it will require of denazification, demilitarization, destalinization. And granted they lived like this much longer than nazi Germany, it will require much more time to be cured. I’m afraid, at least 2 generations has to change, so soviet nostalgia could die completely. And along with that, the same work has to be done in countries where are large muscovites diasporas formed. They are also boiling in their own hate of modern western culture, but refusing to change it to their muscovyan culture that they love and praise so much.
to all those saying “not all russians” and “muhh they’re just civilians” and shit like that. what about now huh? when you realise 63% of russia supports stalin, a literal murderous opressive dictator who enabled ww2 by spoon-feeding germany raw materials and helping with secret rearmament, and who is responsible for the death of millions of people through oppression and outright genocide. 63 percent… fuck.
It’s as if Putin was conditioning the populace for his war of annihilation. Because I’m sure the propaganda machine in Russia’s been in overdrive whitewashing his image for a while now. It’s interesting that in the leadup to the war, Putin banned the organization Memorial which was dedicated to highlighting the many atrocities under Stalin. All part of the plan, I guess.
