I think under 18 it should only be allowed for those close in age.
I’m almost 40 and it’s fucked up that it would be legal for me to sleep with someone who turned 15 today, but it would be illegal for that same 15 year old to sleep with someone who turns 15 tomorrow.
Let (consenting and informed) kids sleep with kids but keep creepy adults away from them.
Germany for example has a weird staggered system with 14, 16, 18 and 21 years old all being mentioned … yet I fail to make much sense of it.
I think that a lot more nuance needs to be codeified into law and also normalised in society. I get not punishing teenagers for having sex lives but grooming and assault are rampant and in many places not even frowned upon. A lot of said groomers proudly proclaim 15-16 as the age of consent to justify and absolve themselves. Two teenagers having sex should not be illegal but a 20something+ person having sex with a teenager is just wrong.

If aggravated circumstances exist, the punishment increases to up to 10 years. If the age difference between partners is not more than three years, the acts are not punished.
It is illegal for an adult to engage in sexual acts with an adolescent under 18, if the adult abuses the authority or influence they have over the minor in order to gain the sexual access.”
