Because the workforce can’t afford to live near their jobs a lot of the time
Other countries have some semblance of public transport so aren’t as pushed.
This is odd. My manager told me everyone was jumping at the opportunity to work in the office and didn’t mind the long commutes at all. She told me people like to see faces and people like a manager close by who is keeping an eye.
She also said our clients were really ecstatic that they got to see such a busy and vibrant team.
My colleague also said he prefers to be in the office full time as well because it’s nice to see people, chat and socialize. He doesn’t live to far from the office but thinks if I don’t like the commute I should move closer.
Why would anyone want to work from home when there are so many positives.
I’m practically remote with an expectation of office attendance once a month and I can honestly say I’m the happiest I’ve been since I started working full time.
There isn’t a breakdown of private and public/state jobs, one reporter noted that alot of wfh is being done by the state but businesses have cut back and started making staff come back to the work place. Be interesting to see the breakdown of the figures
