    > Another team of the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) left for Slovenia this morning from Rosenheim in Bavaria. The task force will mainly take over clearing work on site, for which they will carry a chain excavator, among other things. They complement the two THW teams that already arrived in Slovenia on Monday. “I am pleased that the help is getting off to such a good start. Already yesterday, the advance team was able to explore the first operation sites and our team for recovery work has also reached the operation area. With our third team, we can broaden our assistance even more,” says THW President Sabine Lackner. According to the current status, THW will mainly provide assistance in the north of the country.

    > The advance team has already scouted potential operation sites for THW yesterday. Together with the Slovenian civil protection, the THW forces identified, among others, a damaged bridge that is to be replaced by a THW Bailey-type temporary bridge. The bridge is located in Prevalje and represents an important connection for local residents. The preparations for the specialists from the bridge construction sector are already underway and they will leave for the damaged area later this week. The specialists for the salvage sector, who arrived in Slovenia yesterday evening, have also been deployed on site in the meantime with the so-called operational salvage spider – a walking excavator.

    > The team, which started from Rosenheim today, is specialised in clearing and will mainly remove debris and massive obstacles. For this purpose, they have, among other things, a tipper with a low-loader and an excavator as well as another tipper with a trailer. The THW forces can also use the tracked excavator in impassable terrain. Moreover, thanks to its weight of 16 tonnes, it can move and lift heavy loads. Various attachments make it versatile. Examples are a concrete shear or a demolition and sorting grab.
