Last week Lance Lawrence was killed fighting for Ukraine. This article is based on interviews with people who knew him and fought with him. I’m also interviewed here although I didn’t know him personally.
I’m usually fairly critical of news media coverage of deaths of foreign fighters in Ukraine as I’ve seen them entirely miss the mark or exploit the situation. In this case I’m not at all. I think this article is excellent and when I spoke with the reporter I was impressed he requested verification on everything I said.
