Bought seeds in Lidl of a few tomato varieties and they grown a lot (see pics) but still green.. Wondering if there is any trick to make them red or just hope for Mr Sun.

  1. They should ripen eventually. Outdoors it is much easier to grow cherry varieties successfully. You should also prune them. Remove all the leaves below the 1st truss. If you push the branch up it should just snap off. You should remove the side shoots too. This will direct more energy into the fruit and away from growing leaves.

  2. Give them time. SHould be red by september. Or if you really want take them off and leave them on a windowsill indoors. Take some of the smaller ones off and chuck them. They are directing all the energy away from the bigger ones.

  3. You should go at that and prune it. Give it a serious haircut. All that energy is going to those stems and leaves that are effectively doing nothing. It’ll be redirected to your tomatoes. Any stem doesn’t have a fruit on it, cut it.
