How will new Wales-wide 20mph speed limit law work?

  1. I am more interested who landed the contract for sign replacements…

  2. Look at Wales leading the world.

Might be able to have a kickabout in the street when I next visit home.

    “Car!”

“Nah, we’ve got a minute, play on”

  3. > Many areas of London now have 20mph as the default speed for residential roads

Do they? In the same way that Wales is making it the default? Or do they have “20 zones” or 20 limits as deviations from the default?

  4. If its like edinburghs 20mph zone, then almost pointless with i would say 90%+ non compliance in my experience of driving around the city.

When buses, taxis, police and ambulances(on no blue lights) and the general public at large ignore it, might bring average speed down by 1mph.

  5. I’ve read today on Facebook that reducing the speed limit is another method of restricting our freedom and trapping us in a 15 minute city.

The person that posted this wasn’t clear how allowing people to use a car (but just driving a bit slower) was going to stop people travelling wherever they like.

Gotta love the crazy conspiracy people 😂

  6. It will probably make no difference to the large number of drivers that ignore the present 30mph speed limit, but will probably get the Gov’t more money in fines.

  7. The war on the car continues! I do know from a previous job that road signage isn’t cheap it’s will cost £ millions to replace all the signs hope it’s all worth the bother!

  8. They don’t need to do anything, you’ve got no chance of going over 20mph out here anyway with all the tractors, geriatrics and under 18s on the roads.

Literally saw a woman with a sheep in the passenger seat the other day … You can’t go over 20 when you’ve got all that wool in your FOV.

  9. Honestly given Wales’ traffic flow issues will basically make no difference to anyone
