Powerful quote from the interview: “My recommendation for journalists who are coming to Ukraine to cover this war… it’s pretty simple. I challenge them, and I challenge myself as well, to decolonize my analysis. That means if you’re in Ukraine, you should conduct your journalism in a the way that centers Ukraine… seek out Ukrainian scholars, Ukrainian experts, Ukrainian historians. I don’t believe in ‘both sides’… We cannot be afraid to say that ‘both sides’ is a perspective of privilege.
