I didn’t know the PlayStation had such a high market share VS the Xbox in the EU

  1. Don’t know anyone with a Xbox.
Playstation is the go-to option for this gen.

  2. Well I have a PS2, PS3 and PS5 (skipped the PS4 entirely) but I also have a PC for other games…

And honestly with Sony porting its titles to PC and SteamLink being a really cool app now, I think my PS5 will be my last console ever. The PS5 was probably the last gen to not be fully dematerialized anyway

  3. Consoles still ask for monthly payments to connect to internet that you are already paying your ISP for. PC all the way!

  4. I always had playstation, now i have a ps4 and PC. Considering that microsoft exclusives are coming out also on PC, i don’t see why i have to buy an xbox

  5. You can play xbox exclusives with game pass on a PC. I just buy a xbox controller and use my PC and playstation for everything else. That’s my reasoning for going with the PS instead of xbox.

  6. PC gaming in Europe is big though.

And since all Xbox exclusives are also on PC, it makes more sense to have a Sony console if you already have a PC.

So it whould have been interesting to see the PC – console overlap in a chart.

  7. Always did, i never knew a kid who had Xbox, but Ps1 and 2 everyone had.

Xbox was always more of an American rich kids toy, while PS was for gaming

  8. Its because the Ultimate service is not available in all EU countries. And was very slow to be implemented. All xbox fault probably.

  9. Microsoft really screwed themselves with the Xbox One launch. Back then, PS4 was being sold for less when it was a more powerful console. Xbox One came bundled with the kinect that not many wanted and it drove up the cost of the unit. Xbox 360 was pretty competitive with the PS3.

  10. a question: is the Nint Switch not like the most sold console ever? How come the percentage is so low? Did Nint Players not partake in the questionaire?

  11. Anecdotally, this tracks with my experiences. If you had one console it was absolutely going to be a playstation

  12. At least between XBox and PS, I don’t think it’s about the quality of service or game lineup deciding this but the quality of work put by the marketing department of each company. In my case it’s more about customer fidelity. I always had a PS, I loved it and it never disappointed. If it were not for the exclusives, the current offering from Microsoft wouldn’t he enough to convince me to even buy it as a second console. Never as first option though.
