There’s been a lot of stories of dog attacks lately but…
> After the Collie began to bark aggressively, the victim walked towards the dog to see if she could see a collar with a name or ID tag.
…you’d have to get pretty close to actually *read* a collar tag / ID tag.
Perhaps walking up to a dog that’s barking aggressively isn’t the best idea?
The dog should’ve been under better control (especially if the owner knew it was aggressive) but it sounds like the victim could also have done a lot besides approaching the aggressive dog.
This post has made my blood boil so glad he’s safe I totally agree the poor rescue dogs need time and they become remarkable dogs , I’ve had rescues all my life I put the time and work into them have 2 now they were scared at first now with time they are settled and couldn’t be happier .shame on that owner hope he cannot ever get another dog he’s a disgrace
‘Owner of out of control dog’. Curiosity made me read the article. The fella wasn’t out of control.
Edit – by “fella”, I’m referring to the chap who wasn’t controlling his dog. Not the clearly out of control dog.
By “chap”, I mean “man”.
Can’t wait to see all the victim blaming comments because she dared to be out in public and walking around, as if the dog and its owner aren’t 100% the ones at fault here…
This guy didn’t just refuse to take responsibility, he actually said he wouldn’t adhere to any conditions. This is not a man who should be allowed to have a dog.
> ***After the Collie began to bark aggressively, the victim walked towards the dog*** to see if she could see a collar with a name or ID tag.
WTAF? Why would you do that when a dog is showing aggression?
I really do believe all dogs should be muzzled and on a leash in public.
