I wonder how they will show being called a lesbian is offensive without coming across anti LGBTQ+
If that’s literally all she said then it seems massively excessive. We’ll see if there’s more to it though.
West Yorks police:
1. an autistic child says a cop looks like her lesbian nan: *stop right there, criminal scum*!
2. an autistic child is rumoured to have dropped a copy of the Quran and is being threatened with death by dozens and dozens of “moderates”: *free speech, innit? Can’t arrest someone for saying something you don’t like!*
Add on to the fact that the police are claiming that this was a public order offence in a private dwelling (which obviously can’t happen) and are implying that there’s something criminally wrong about looking lesbian, I don’t see this prosecution going too far at all. The implementation of our hate speech laws seem massively skewed.
If you are that thin skinned you are not suitable for a career in the police.
